Training program on SWMM

Objective
The objective of the program is to provide training on the use of the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of USA. The target group is postgraduate students working on urban water management and water quality modeling. The training covers introducing concepts and hands on training on modeling urban storm water drainage, water quality modeling, assessing impacts on nature-based solutions on the quantity and quality of storm water drainage and assessing storm water management project proposal utilizing the model using real world case studies and data.
Component Description
This program consist of three components, The first two are teaching components and the third one is a review/feed back program.
- Hydrodynamic modeling (3 classes)
- Water Quality modeling and measures for water quality improvements (4 classes)
- Review and discussion (2 classes)
The classes are expected to be conducted from 18:30 to 20:30 (Beijing time) which is 16:00 hrs to 18 hrs in Sri Lanka and 19:30 to 21:30 in Japan

12 students form 3 Chinese Universities enrolled to the first programme
Delivery
All classes are conducted via Zoom meetings. The class notes, lecture materials, assignments and other resources for the group are disseminated through the enviforecasting web site. The community facilities of the platform can be used for discussions and sharing informations. Lectures are recorded and can be downloaded from the site. The student assignments are uploaded to the system or can be sent by email.
